About The Position

Holder Construction is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its MEP team on a project in Culpeper, Virginia. This is a full-time, in-person position. The role supports commercial projects within Holder’s core markets and contributes to effective coordination and execution of MEP preconstruction work. The Senior Engineer coordinates with equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors; procures electrical and mechanical subcontracts and equipment; manages contracts and deliverables from bid solicitation through contract award; coordinates equipment submittals; and assists with construction cost estimates.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, a relevant field, or relevant experience.
5+ years of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing preconstruction experience.
Ability to read and understand electrical, HVAC, plumbing, architectural, and civil plans and specifications.
Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of MEP systems and equipment.
Good communication skills.
Ability to identify and resolve issues.
Effective participation in a team environment.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Responsibilities

Communicate with electrical and mechanical equipment vendors, design engineers, clients, and subcontractors.
Procure electrical and mechanical subcontracts and equipment, managing contracts and deliverables from bid solicitation through contract award.
Coordinate equipment submittals and assist with electrical, mechanical, and overall construction cost estimates.
Support commercial projects within core markets, ensuring effective coordination and execution.
