About The Position

Athena Care has been offering high quality, accessible mental health care for over twenty years. We are an insurance-based practice growing across Tennessee, and we're looking for a therapist near Knoxville to join our team. We offer psychological testing, IOP/PHP, Spravato/IM Ketamine, TMS, psychotherapy, group therapy, and general psychiatry. This means patients receive genuinely comprehensive care, and clinicians get unique and interesting colleagues. We are looking for someone who is curious about people, finds energy in working with a diverse patient population, and cares deeply about the humans sitting across from them. You should be fully licensed in Tennessee (LPC-MHSP, LCSW, or LMFT) and ready to practice independently, but also enjoy collaboration and value good clinical conversation. We strive to offer the ideal balance of a small group practice feel on the ground with strong business expertise and technology behind the scenes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
• Tennessee licensure in good standing (LCSW, LPC-MHSP, or LMFT) or provisional licensure with ability to work under supervision.
• Prior experience providing mental health services preferred.
• BLS Certification preferred.
• Comfortable with EMR systems and standard tech tools.
• HIPAA-savvy and committed to ethical, patient-centered practice.

• Fully licensed in Tennessee (LPC-MHSP, LCSW, or LMFT) and ready to practice independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient therapy to adults, adolescents, and/or children navigating behavioral health challenges.
• Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Write progress notes.
• Collaborate regularly with the broader care team.
• Keep documentation timely and accurate in our EMR.
• Maintain licensure.
• Be a thoughtful, engaged member of the team.
