Mental Health Technician (PRN)
About The Position
River Park Hospital is hiring per diem Mental Health Technicians. The 165-bed behavioral health facility in Huntington, West Virginia, provides acute inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, as well as residential treatment for children and adolescents and an adult forensic unit. The Mental Health Technician supports patient care by building therapeutic relationships, protecting confidentiality, conducting patient rounds, and helping reduce crises in the care setting. The role also contributes to safe, quality, cost-effective care and works as part of the patient care team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in a mental health setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
- Help assure and improve quality care by facilitating patients’ and families’ rights to safe, quality, and cost-effective care.
- Maintain and protect confidentiality regarding patient care and information.
- Address patients’ learning needs by using appropriate resources to support positive outcomes.
- Conduct patient rounds for routine and heightened observation status.
- Interact therapeutically to decrease crises in the patient care setting.
- Demonstrate respect and understanding for patients, peers, and other clinical disciplines, and participate effectively as a member of the patient care team.
