About The Position

Frisbie Memorial Hospital is hiring a PRN Mental Health Technician to support its collaborative nursing care team. The technician provides hands-on, non-medicated patient care and helps maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The schedule is either 6 a.m.–6 p.m. or 6 p.m.–6 a.m.

The role includes helping patients prepare for procedures and supporting their mobility, transfers, comfort, and recovery. The technician also provides non-medicated care, maintains clean and stocked patient and common areas, manages supplies and equipment, and completes environmental logs to support readiness and infection control. Clear, kind communication with patients, families, and the care team is expected, along with contributing to safety and quality efforts.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Six months of previous mental health, psychiatric, or patient care experience.
• Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date.
• Obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support procedures and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care, including dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to maintain readiness and support infection control.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts.
