About The Position
The Mental Health Technician observes, escorts, and monitors patients; reports observations to the Registered Nurse; and provides basic nursing care under the Registered Nurse’s direction. The role also assists patients with activities of daily living, helps maintain a safe, secure, and clean environment, and engages patients as a positive role model for recovery-oriented behaviors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies needed to care for people with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
- Current AHA BLS CPR.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of approved techniques to assist patients with ambulation and self-care.
