About The Position

Cedar Hills Hospital has an opportunity for a Mental Health Technician to join our intake team! We are looking for people who will be dedicated to serving our patients with a high quality of care. Come join a facility that believes in Hope, Health, and Healing! The Mental Health Technician plays a critical role in patient care and facility operations. Working under the direct supervision of an Registered Nurse (RN), the tech provides basic care, assists patients with activities of daily living, and models positive, recovery-oriented behaviors. They ensure a safe, secure, and clean environment by observing, escorting, and monitoring patients, conducting policy-compliant rounds in the Assessment Center, and promptly reporting clinical observations to the nursing staff. Additionally, they manage key administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, completing patient consent forms, and accurately entering patient information into the MS4 system. A successful candidate will have experience in patient care with a focus on behavioral health, ability to stay calm in stressful situations and the flexibilty to work varied hours, nights and weekends as needed. Schedule for this position is Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 7:00am to 7:30pm. This schedule may change to Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Winter 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in patient care with a focus on behavioral health.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Patient care experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies required to provide care for persons with psychiatric and/or substance use disorders, preferred.
  • Knowledge of approved techniques to assist patients with ambulation and self care, preferred.
