Mental Health Technician - Older Adult Unit
About The Position
The Mental Health Technician provides direct support to patients receiving psychiatric or behavioral health care under the supervision of nursing and clinical staff. The role monitors patient safety and behavior, assists with activities of daily living, and helps implement individualized treatment plans. The position is with the Older Adult Unit at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. The hospital is a 443-bed, full-service acute care hospital serving Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas in Dallas and Collin counties. Its services include behavioral health and addiction recovery, inpatient rehabilitation, and long-term acute care. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Heart Association certification.
- Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification within the first week of hire.
- At least 2 years of experience in a mental health-related field with direct patient care responsibilities.
