Mental Health Tech - Night Shift
About The Position
Strong Hope Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate team player to work as a Mental/Behavioral Health Technician. The technician provides direct patient care, supervision, and therapeutic support as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the role helps maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting patient engagement, daily functioning, and treatment plan goals. Strong Hope Behavioral Health is a private, 118-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults. It serves Salt Lake City and the surrounding area through evidence-based treatments in a comfortable, confidential atmosphere, using an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. The position is a night shift from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Pay is $18.00–$24.00 per hour, dependent on education and experience, with a $3.00–$4.00 shift differential for nights and weekends.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- One year of related experience is preferred but not required.
- Must attend in-house CPR and Handle With Care certification.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state if transporting patients.
- May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
- A degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or an appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
- One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Responsibilities
