About The Position

The Mental Health Professional (MHP) provides group and individual psychiatric rehabilitative and case management services to adults with a history of multiple psychiatric hospitalizations and in need of long-term care stabilization. The role involves participating with interdisciplinary teams in developing and implementing therapeutic services and interventions. This position is at Bourbonnais Terrace, a Specialized Mental Health and Rehab Facility (SMHRF) that cares for the non-aggressive adult mentally ill/behavior health population. The center focuses on recovery and rehabilitation, has a low turnover rate, and is JACHO accredited. The patients are independent, do not require lifting, and are very interactive. The facility utilizes a "Life Skills Program" that has been recognized with an "Impact Award" for its effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology) and a minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in mental health or human services.
  • Minimum qualifications: an unrelated Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2 years in a mental health profession/role or a high school diploma and 5 or more years in the mental health profession with clinical supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a PRSC or mental health professional in a licensed nursing home, intermediate care facility, or specialized mental health rehab facility is preferred.
  • Experience with Point Click Care (PCC) is ideal, but not required.
