About The Position

Flowers Early Learning is a high-quality preschool with locations throughout Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties and currently has an opening for an Mental Health Consultant, serving classrooms with children ages 0-5 years old. Requirements

  • Master of Social Work, with a current license in the State of Michigan
  • Minimum two years’ experience working with school-age population and families.
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Possess own reliable transportation
  • Complete a physical examination
  • Complete a comprehensive fingerprinted criminal background check
  • Complete pre-employment drug screen including a negative result for Amphetamines, Cannabinoids (including Marijuana/THC), Cocaine, Opiates, and Phencyclidine (PCP).

Nice To Haves

  • Under Head Start Program Performance Standards (1302.91(e)(8)(ii) Mental Health Consultants must be licensed, or work under the supervision, of a licensed mental health professional.

Responsibilities

  • Provision and coordination of mental health services for an assigned caseload.
  • Work with both parents and staff to enhance their awareness and understanding of mental wellness and its impact on children and families.
  • Improve the ability of staff, families, programs, and systems to prevent, identify, treat and reduce the impact of mental health problems among children and their families.
