About The Position

Secure Base Counseling Center (SBCC), an outpatient mental health facility with offices in Northfield, New Prague, and Farmington, Minnesota, is hiring Mental Health Behavioral Aides to work directly with children and their families in the home and community. Services offered by SBCC include psychotherapy, play therapy, rehabilitative services (CTSS and ARMHS), and DBT. The position may involve working in clients’ homes, in the community, in schools, or at one of SBCC’s three offices. Aides work collaboratively with therapists and clinical supervisors, maintain their own caseloads and schedules, and attend weekly educational and case consultation meetings. The role pays $12.50 per client contact hour and $0.40 per minute of travel.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or two years of experience within the past ten years as a primary caregiver to a child with mental illness.
Successful completion of training required under Minnesota statute 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph c.
Valid driver’s license and transportation.
Ability to travel within a 30-minute radius of the chosen office.

Responsibilities

Work from an attachment perspective and use a team approach.
Work directly with clients in their homes, in the community, in schools, and in the office.
Transport clients in the aide’s vehicle when applicable, subject to the minimum requirements of SBCC’s liability insurance.
Work collaboratively with the therapist and clinical supervisor to create client treatment plans.
Write progress notes for each client session.
Maintain a caseload and schedule clients for in-home and in-office sessions.
Attend mandatory weekly educational and case consultation meetings.
Remain compliant with SBCC policies and procedures.
Complete 30 hours of continuing education every two calendar years and provide documentation to human resources for the personnel file.
