About The Position

Hillcrest Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Aide to support residents on its behavioral unit. Under the direction of the Program Director/Assistant, the aide helps maintain a highly structured daily environment intended to improve residents’ behavior and quality of life. The role includes working with residents with varied mental health needs and/or aggressive behaviors, providing therapeutic programming and behavioral support, and assisting with personal care when needed. Pay is $20–$24 per hour, with weekend and evening shift differentials available. Per diem positions are available.

Requirements

Current and valid Massachusetts CNA certification is required.
Applicants without certification must complete a CNA program and obtain certification within 120 days of hire through facility-funded classes.

Responsibilities

Support residents on the behavioral unit and help maintain a structured daily environment.
Work with residents who have various mental health needs and/or aggressive behaviors.
Assist on the unit and provide behavioral support when needed.
Provide therapeutic programming, including running group activities.
Chart activity logs.
Monitor hallways and redirect residents when needed.
Model pro-social behavior and group participation for residents.
Maintain resident safety at all times.
Monitor, record, and document observations of resident behavior.
Provide personal care when needed, including toileting, feeding, and positioning.
Instruct and counsel residents on positive behavioral aspects.
Maintain and manage a clean and safe environment for residents.
