About The Position

Summit Oaks Hospital, a 126-bed private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center, is seeking a Mental Health Associate (MHA). This role is ideal for an energetic, motivated individual with prior experience working with patients with behavioral health or addictions diagnoses. The MHA functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, role modeling, and monitoring patients across various age groups and units, including adult psychiatric, adult dual diagnosis, child and adolescent, detox, and rehab units. Other duties include taking vital signs, conducting educational groups, and responding to codes. This is a full-time, day shift position, working three days a week from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm with rotating weekends.

Requirements

B.S. in a health-related field with one year of psychiatric experience, preferably in an inpatient setting; or two years of experience in a psychiatric setting with evidence of participation in continuing education related to mental health.
Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations preferred.
Must maintain CPR and First Aid, Verbal De-escalation and Handle with Care Certifications (provided by the Hospital).

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working with patients with behavioral health or addictions diagnosis.
Psychiatric inpatient experience for Adults, Adolescents and Dual populations.

Responsibilities

Providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling.
Monitoring patients ranging in age from preschool through geriatrics, depending on the nursing unit assigned.
