About The Position

The Mental Health Aide works under the supervision of management staff and provides direct therapeutic services to residents of the program. Services include crisis intervention, medication management, and training in activities of daily living. The position is also responsible for maintaining the residence’s physical environment and following hospital and residential policies and procedures. The role is located in Staten Island, NY. Pay is based on 1199 Collective Bargaining Union Rates.

Requirements

• Basic writing skills.
• Experience in mental health, substance abuse, and/or a residential setting.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic services to residents.
• Provide crisis intervention.
• Provide medication management.
• Train residents in activities of daily living.
• Maintain the physical environment of the residence.
• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with hospital and residential policies and procedures.
• Perform physical and household tasks, including walking up and down stairs while carrying items, snow removal, restocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, cooking, and cleaning.
