About The Position
The Sales Outfitter performs selling and customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging customers promptly and warmly, handling merchandise with care, and providing customers with information, assistance, and direction. The role supports a pleasant and productive shopping experience by demonstrating products, maintaining merchandise and displays, and helping customers make informed buying decisions. The associate develops product knowledge through ongoing training and promotes programs such as CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up. Work is performed under general supervision using established procedures, with occasional independent judgment to complete assignments and make recommendations about work practices.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and make change.
- Ability to communicate with customers and associates in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to operate a computerized Point of Sale register system.
- Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the shift.
- Ability to move objects up to 20 pounds constantly and occasionally lift or move objects up to 100 pounds or more using a team lift as needed.
- Ability to occasionally climb ladders, stairs, or ramps; repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, or fingers; operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, or heavy equipment; work in confined spaces; and work in noisy environments.
Responsibilities
- Greet and acknowledge customers promptly and in a friendly manner.
- Handle merchandise with care and provide customers with information, assistance, and direction.
- Support a high standard of customer service and a pleasant, productive shopping experience.
- Demonstrate products to customers.
- Replenish and restock merchandise according to merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain product knowledge through ongoing training.
- Stay informed about advertised sales and maintain pricing and signage.
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves.
- Keep the work area clean, neat, and stocked with supplies.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Identify and evaluate customer needs, recommend products, and promote programs including CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Use established procedures and occasional independent judgment to resolve problems and complete assignments; make recommendations about work procedures, policies, and practices.
