About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Memory Care Aide to join our team at The Barrymore in Kansas City, MO. This part-time position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a starting wage of $18.50-$24 per hour. As a Memory Care Support Partner, you will be an Advocate of Empathy, creating human connection with residents during their vulnerable moments. You will also be a Patient Observer, discovering residents' interests and collaborating to create engagement plans. Additionally, you will be a Master of the Mise en Scène, responsible for setting the stage for a successful day by preparing environments for various activities and routines. You will also act as a Life Partner, assisting residents with all facets of their daily lives, and be excellent at documenting resident care and changes in condition. A key part of this role includes assisting with the orientation of new team members in memory care neighborhoods.

Requirements

  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Computer skills to print documents and enter resident information.
  • Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall.
  • Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

  • Create human connection with residents during their most vulnerable moments.
  • Discover residents’ interests, abilities, and what makes each resident who they are.
  • Collaborate to create appropriate engagement plans and implement strategies with patience to ensure success.
  • Be responsible for setting the stage for a successful day, from preparing dining rooms to setting up activity spaces and resident rooms.
  • Partner with residents to achieve all facets of daily life from the moment they wake to the moment they go to sleep.
  • Document resident care and changes in condition.
  • Assist with orientation of team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods.
