About The Position

The Membership Sales Desk team member promotes and sells BJ’s membership programs, supports membership acquisition, renewal, upgrades, and cross-selling, and provides efficient service to members. The role also handles merchandise returns, exchanges, pick-ups, general inquiries, and BOPIC (Buy Online and Pick Up In Club) orders. Team members follow club policies and procedures, contribute to a safe and positive member experience, and work collaboratively to meet business goals and maintain club standards. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s value proposition, membership acquisition, retention, perks, and member experience.
• Pitch membership programs and sell membership products to prospective and existing members in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Work toward business-established benchmarks and results.
• Maintain a clear understanding of BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card.
• Serve as a first point of contact for membership matters, credit card applications, general questions, issues, merchandise returns, exchanges, product lookups, and pick-ups.
• Follow tax-exempt and resale membership policies and procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt/resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly; escalate issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist with BOPIC orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Support safe, positive, inclusive, and collaborative experiences for members and coworkers.
• Follow daily GOLD Member and club standards, including greeting members, maintaining stocked merchandise and promotional plans, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
• Access and read departmental production and/or financial performance reporting and understand how consistent execution affects business results.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
