About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests. The role provides friendly, professional customer service and helps create an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience in a clean, comfortable, and welcoming club environment. The MSR handles membership inquiries and transactions, supports members with account and billing questions, and applies knowledge of club culture, policies, and procedures. This is an on-site, full-time day position. The role requires a satisfactory National Sex Offender Registry search and the ability to obtain and maintain CPR/AED and Tanning Certifications within company-required time frames. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must work on-site; the position is not remote.
Must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory outcome.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within company-required time frames and maintain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED during a medical emergency.
Must obtain Tanning Certification within company-required time frames.

Ability to perform CPR, operate equipment as needed, and communicate verbally in person or by phone to exchange information.
Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and respond to member questions and concerns promptly and courteously.
Assist members with account inquiries, account changes, and billing questions.
Explain Planet Fitness memberships, amenities, current specials, and upgrades, including Black Card membership.
Give tours and assist prospective members with sign-ups.
Work toward or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the POS system and answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Process memberships, cancellations, and payments accurately.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Escalate issues to the Assistant Manager or General Manager as appropriate.
Perform assigned cleaning duties and help keep restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas, and the rest of the club clean and neat.
Return weights to their appropriate rack areas and regularly walk the floor to keep the club clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification and obtain Tanning Certification within company-required time frames.
