About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests. The role provides exceptional customer service, handles membership inquiries and transactions, and helps maintain a clean, comfortable, and friendly Judgement Free Zone. The MSR supports a positive member experience through professional interactions, prompt assistance, and knowledge of club culture, policies, and procedures. This is a full-time, on-site overnight position. The representative greets and assists members, provides information about memberships and amenities, supports tours and sign-ups, processes transactions, and maintains the facility throughout the shift. Employees must complete required background screening and obtain and maintain CPR/AED and tanning certifications within company time frames. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be able to work on-site; the role is not remote.
Must have an upbeat, professional, and positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Must be professional, respectful, and solutions-oriented in interactions with members and employees.
Must be committed to cleanliness and creating a positive member experience.
Must be able to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required time frames and be physically able to perform CPR/AED in a medical emergency.
Must obtain Tanning Certification within company-required time frames.
Overnight MSRs must complete a background check consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List, and County Criminal Search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory result.
Must be able to perform prolonged standing and walking, frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to operate assigned equipment and communicate verbally in person or by phone.
Must have normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and respond promptly and courteously to member questions and concerns.
Assist with member account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.
Explain membership options, amenities, specials, and upgrades, and assist prospective members with tours and sign-ups.
Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the POS system and answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Accurately process new memberships, cancellations, and payments.
Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.
Inform the Assistant Manager or General Manager when issues arise.
Perform assigned cleaning duties throughout the shift and help maintain restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas, and other club spaces.
Return weights to the appropriate racks and regularly walk the floor to keep the club clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
