About The Position

Planet Fitness is hiring a part-time Member Services Representative in Pittsburg, California. The role creates a positive member experience by providing a high level of customer service to members, prospective members, and guests. The representative handles front-desk activities, assists with member accounts and inquiries, and helps maintain the club’s cleanliness. The position requires continual standing, walking, and talking during the shift, and may involve occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and encountering toxic chemicals.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Basic computer proficiency.
Punctuality and reliability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to interact positively and professionally with members and coworkers.
Strong listening, empathy, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to demonstrate diplomacy and use appropriate behavior and language.
Ability to stand and walk continually during the shift.
Ability to talk continually in person or on the phone during the shift.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during the shift.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests while providing exceptional customer service.
Answer phone calls in a friendly manner and assist callers with questions.
Check members into the system.
Give tours to prospective members.
Sign up new members and calculate rates and monthly payment amounts.
Assist the Club Manager with counting the drawer as needed.
Facilitate updates to member accounts.
Respond to member questions and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating matters to the Assistant Manager or Club Manager as needed.
Help maintain the club’s neatness and cleanliness, including completing assigned duties within the first hour of the shift, contributing to the daily priority cleaning list, conducting periodic walk-around and bathroom checks, and assisting with special cleaning projects.
Perform other duties and responsibilities based on club needs.
