About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests. The role provides exceptional customer service and supports an inviting “Judgement Free Zone®” by handling membership questions and transactions, offering prompt and professional assistance, and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and friendly club environment. This is an on-site, part-time morning position. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply. The MSR supports customer service, membership sales, and front desk operations, while helping keep the facility clean, organized, and safe. The position reports to the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager. Employees must complete a National Sex Offender Registry search, obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within required timeframes, and obtain tanning certification within the company’s required timeframe. Continued employment is contingent on a satisfactory background check outcome.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must obtain tanning certification within the company-required timeframe.
Must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory background check outcome.
Ability to perform the physical tasks described, including prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending and other movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to communicate verbally in person and by phone; normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and help create a positive club experience.
Respond promptly and courteously to questions and concerns; assist with account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.
Explain memberships and amenities, provide tours, assist with sign-ups, and promote membership specials and upgrades such as Black Card.
Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the POS system and answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Accurately process new memberships, cancellations, and payments.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Inform the Assistant Manager or General Manager when issues arise.
Perform assigned cleaning duties throughout the shift, including cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, and workout areas.
Return weights to their designated rack areas and regularly walk the floor to keep the club clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within required timeframes and maintain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED during a medical emergency.
Obtain tanning certification within the company-required timeframe.
