About The Position

The Custer YMCA is seeking a Front Desk/Member Services Associate to join their team. This role is the first point of contact for members and guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming experience. The position involves providing excellent customer service, conducting tours, selling memberships, and assisting with administrative tasks. The YMCA is a community hub focused on healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility, located in the Black Hills. This role also includes janitorial duties.

Requirements

Must be 18 or older to apply.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Respond to the individual needs of each person encountered, ensuring they feel valued and supported.
Provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants both in person and over the phone.
Conduct interviews and cause-driven tours tailored to the needs of prospective members.
Sell memberships and provide accurate program information.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers and members.
Serve others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting members, inviting them to get involved and give back to the community.
Handle and resolve membership concerns.
Inform supervisors of any unusual situations or unresolved issues.
Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services and member/staff safety.
Handle administrative processes.
Perform opening and closing procedures as required.
Assist with distributing towels and maintaining locker rooms as needed.
Perform janitorial duties.
