GenMD is a Stanford spin-off building AI and data infrastructure for healthcare. The company grew out of work at Stanford Medicine and works with health systems and data partners on large longitudinal datasets, including claims, health records, imaging, and clinical notes. GenMD makes these data usable for researchers and frontier AI while protecting patient privacy. The company is coming out of stealth, is revenue-generating and well funded, and describes itself as intentionally small and fast-moving. As an Applied AI intern, you will work on AI and data systems behind Healthcare Datahub and GenMD's work with frontier AI teams. You will have a named mentor and own projects end to end, from scoping through delivery. Projects include prototyping and shipping LLM features for Mira, GenMD's AI research assistant, and building pipelines that transform raw healthcare datasets into documented, searchable, analysis-ready products. You will also run experiments and evaluations and present findings at the Friday showcase. The internship is offered during spring, summer, and fall terms, with flexible start dates. Compensation is $45–$60 per hour, depending on degree level and experience.
