Groq•Dallas, TX
•$118,800 - $194,500•Hybrid

About The Position

Groq is hiring a customer-facing technical and commercial contributor to join its Americas enterprise team and help meet growing demand for GroqCloud inference. The role sits between customers, engineering, and the business, serving as a prospective customer’s first technical and commercial contact and supporting the customer through evaluation, agreement, and renewal. The position works closely with the Director, Americas and the field engineering team. After learning how to qualify, size, and price inference capacity, the hire is expected to take on those customer conversations independently. The role can grow into supporting larger dedicated deployments and emerging Groq infrastructure opportunities. The position combines technical understanding of customer workloads with commercial judgment. It also involves coordinating deals, renewals, and cross-functional partners, and building systems and automation to help a small team serve a growing market. The role is based in the Dallas, San Francisco, or New York City area. Remote work is available while Groq establishes its local office, after which the role is expected to transition to onsite work. The base salary range for U.S.-based candidates is $118,800–$194,500, with placement based on location, experience, skills, and internal compensation standards. International compensation varies by local market. Depending on the role, additional incentive compensation may be available, such as a bonus, commission, or other performance-based compensation. Groq also offers a Long-Term Incentive (LTI) Program and employee benefits. The role may require meeting U.S. export-control citizenship or residency criteria, or eligibility for an applicable export license.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or technical account management; ideally at an AI, ML, or cloud infrastructure company.
  • Hands-on familiarity with LLM inference, including the ability to discuss models, throughput, latency, tokens per minute, and tradeoffs among dedicated, reserved, and shared capacity, or the technical foundation to develop that knowledge quickly.
  • Consultative approach: diagnose customer needs before recommending a solution and be comfortable telling prospects when Groq is not the right fit.
  • Commercial fluency with pricing, order forms, renewals, and enterprise contract mechanics, or experience working closely enough with sales to learn them quickly.
  • Strong organization and process orientation, including maintaining a clean pipeline, closing loops, and following up independently.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-directed approach, including identifying gaps and proposing solutions.
  • Ability to adapt communication to audiences ranging from infrastructure engineers to CFOs.
  • Comfort operating amid ambiguity, adapting to new workflows and environments, and moving forward without waiting for perfect information.
  • Must meet applicable export-control eligibility criteria; for the U.S. posting, this means qualifying as a U.S. Person or being eligible for an applicable export license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a neocloud, inference provider, GPU cloud, or AI lab.
  • Experience with Salesforce or deal desk tooling.
  • A track record of building or improving go-to-market processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own inbound interest in GroqCloud from first contact through qualification and ensure prospective customers receive thoughtful, timely responses.
  • Lead workload and requirements conversations, understand customers’ inference needs, and translate them into suitable Groq solutions.
  • Turn customer requirements into capacity proposals and order forms, guide customers through the commercial process, and help close deals with support from the Director.
  • Build and manage a renewal practice that keeps existing customers on current terms, expands appropriate accounts, and transitions other accounts cleanly.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, sales operations, and engineering to keep agreements progressing on time and communicate deal status.
  • Extend existing automation and workflows and design new systems to help a small team serve a growing market.
  • Identify gaps in sales, renewal, and billing processes and propose solutions.
  • As experience in the role grows, contribute to larger dedicated capacity deployments and emerging Groq infrastructure opportunities.

Benefits

  • Long-Term Incentive (LTI) Program
  • Employee benefits
  • Potential bonus, commission, or other performance-based compensation, depending on the role
