About The Position

Filed is hiring a Member of Accounting Staff to guide accounting firms from signing up to successfully using its AI tax preparation product. The role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the United States except New York. The position centers on technical demonstrations, group onboarding of 5 to 10 firms at a time, and supporting each firm through an eight-week period until it is independently running real work through Filed. The employee will teach firms through webinars and training, serve as their point of contact, translate customer feedback into product improvements, and help ensure product output meets professional review standards.

The job is in a high-paced, demanding environment, with much of the day spent on customer calls. December and January are especially intense, with work needing to be completed before the February 1 freeze. The employee will address customer concerns and explain product results to tax professionals, including partners, while collaborating with sales, product, engineering, and customer support. The role is assessed at Level 3. The stated annual salary and equity offers are $85,800 plus $130,027 in equity, $93,600 plus $86,684 in equity, or $101,400 plus $43,342 in equity, with offers potentially adjusted if the candidate is assessed at a different level. Performance reviews occur every four months, and meeting goals may result in doubling equity by the end of the first year.

Requirements

• Have prepared or reviewed real tax returns within a firm; credentials are welcome but not required.
• Have substantial strength in either individual returns (1040) or business returns (1065, 1120, 1120-S, 990, or 1041); strength in both is a plus.
• Be comfortable in front of customers, including giving demonstrations and training and handling difficult conversations and escalations.
• Have a high degree of confidence using at least a few major tax platforms, such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect, Drake, or GoSystem.
• Learn software quickly, including new product surfaces, workflows, and integrations.
• Be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
• Be empathetic and curious, and build for users as well as technically correct outcomes.
• Collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and tax.
• Be detail-oriented and pragmatic, exercising precision where it matters while knowing when to move forward.
• Take ownership of work and welcome accountability.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with both individual and business tax returns.
• Experience implementing SurePrep, GruntWorx, or AutoFlow, or rolling out new software across a firm.
• Tax-related credentials.

Responsibilities

• Run technical demonstrations alongside sales for firms that need a tax professional involved.
• Onboard groups of 5 to 10 firms and serve as their point person until they are successfully using Filed for real work.
• Manage firm relationships through the eight-week period that determines whether onboarding succeeds.
• Conduct webinars and training sessions and help firms become proficient with Filed.
• Translate feedback and friction observed during customer calls into actionable input for product and engineering teams.
• Develop sufficient product knowledge to earn users’ trust and identify output that would not pass a reviewer.
• Address customer questions, escalations, and issues, communicating clearly and driving them through resolution.
