About The Position

This position is flexible for trainee, entry level or experienced hires and will perform all responsibilities under the position once fully trained. The Melt Caster will perform somewhat diversified duties to assist in the melting and casting of molds following established methods and procedures. They will assist in all phases of foundry shell mold operations, such as positioning molds for pouring, pouring the molds, skimming slag, cleaning furnaces, charging furnaces, repairing and relining crucibles and ladles, and removing poured molds to cooling area. The role also involves performing casting operations on upward injection furnaces for shell and molds, handling shells and molds, and operating and controlling furnaces in accordance with established procedures. Additionally, the Melt Caster will perform required repair and maintenance of equipment as regularly handled by casting department personnel, detect faulty operations or defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to a supervisor, and follow prescribed safety regulations while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but may be substituted by manufacturing experience.
  • One year of manufacturing experience preferred, previous experience in the casting industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and providing recommendations to help make PCC a safe work environment.
  • Achieve team production and efficiency goals by working to meet all operational and quality standards to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
