About The Position

The Medicine Associate/Formulation Technician II manufactures quality fill material for use in the encapsulation process at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharma Services Group site in High Point, North Carolina, which produces gelatin-based softgel dosage forms. The role includes making neat fills and blends, complex batches, and quality fill material—including simple potent compounds—using multiple types of equipment and processes. The technician follows applicable workplace procedures and cleans equipment and the work area. The position works a 12-hour day shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule in a 24-hour, seven-day-per-week operation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, a laboratory setting, or a related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret data, perform basic calculations, and troubleshoot.
Ability to work a 12-hour shift in a 24-hour, seven-day-per-week operation.
Meet DEA security clearance requirements if requested.
Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
Able to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Close and color vision required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a cGMP environment.
Pallet jack and forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Read and adhere to SOPs, batch records, cGMP requirements, and MSDS memos.
Retrieve, weigh, identify, mix, and store raw materials.
Clean equipment and perform other cleaning duties in the area.
Manufacture neat fills and blends, as well as complex batches.
Produce quality fill material, including simple potent compounds, for the encapsulation department using multiple types of equipment and processes.
May operate a forklift.
