About The Position

The Gelatin Associate/Formulation Technician II manufactures quality gel material for use in the encapsulation process at Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Pharma Services Group site in High Point, North Carolina, which focuses on gelatin-based drug-delivery dosage forms (softgels). The site offers development and commercial-scale capabilities for various softgel technologies. The role works a 12-hour day shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule in a 24-hour, seven-day-per-week operation. The technician follows workplace procedures and supports gelatin preparation, production-line supply, equipment training, and area cleaning.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of work experience in manufacturing, operations, production, a laboratory setting, or a related field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret data, perform basic calculations, and troubleshoot.
Ability to work a 12-hour shift in a 24-hour, seven-day-per-week operation.
Must meet DEA security clearance requirements if requested.
Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
Close and color vision required.

Experience in a cGMP environment.
SAP experience.
Pallet jack and forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Read and adhere to workplace procedures, including SOPs, Batch Records, cGMPs, and MSDS memos.
Weigh raw materials and load gelatin silos.
Mix GMRs, transfer TiO2, and monitor GMR temperatures.
Mix gel for use on the production line.
Train in the Automated Gelatin Manufacturing System (AGMS).
Perform all cleaning duties in the area.
Work overtime as necessary.
