Medication Technician MC (Full-time 2-10pm)

About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Medication Technician to provide compassionate direct care to residents. The role assists with medication administration and activities of daily living in accordance with each resident’s personalized medication and treatment plans. The Medication Technician works as part of a team to support residents’ comfort, safety, well-being, independence, and engagement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state medication administration license, such as CNA, CMA, CMT, QMAP, or Certified Caregiver, or meet state requirements for medication administration in assisted living.
Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain one.
At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
Willingness to participate in weekend rotation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with memory care and/or formal training.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, according to individual care plans.
Follow documentation protocols and report changes in residents’ status.
Help manage medication inventory and storage, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as necessary.
Provide compassionate care and assistance with activities of daily living as needed in a team setting.
Support residents’ independence and provide emotional support through ongoing engagement and companionship.
Encourage and assist residents to participate in life enrichment activities.
Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
