About The Position

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Medication Technician (Med Tech/QMAP) to provide compassionate direct care to residents in an assisted living community. The role assists residents with medication administration and activities of daily living according to their individual medication and treatment plans. The technician works as part of a team to support residents’ comfort, safety, well-being, and independence, while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state medication administration license, such as CNA, CMA, CMT, QMAP, or Certified Caregiver, or meet state requirements for medication administration in assisted living.
Current First Aid and CPR license, or ability to obtain one.
At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting.
Excellent attention to detail and high integrity.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
Positive attitude, empathy, patience, and commitment to treating residents with dignity and respect.
Willingness to participate in a weekend rotation.

Experience with memory care.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, as outlined in their individual care plans.
Follow documentation protocols and report changes in residents’ status.
Assist with medication inventory and proper storage, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as needed.
Provide compassionate support with activities of daily living in a team setting.
Promote residents’ independence and provide emotional support through ongoing engagement and companionship.
Encourage and assist residents to participate in life enrichment activities.
Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
