About The Position

Performs routine duties in caring for residents and assists residents with medications under the direction of a nurse manager. Provides medication and treatment services within the scope of regulatory guidelines. This is a part-time, night-shift position in extended care.

Adventist Health and Rideout is a healthcare provider serving Yuba-Sutter County, with a hospital, physician clinics, home care services, cancer care, and other services in Marysville and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• High school education, GED, or equivalent required.
• First Aid Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy required within 30 days of hire.
• All required vaccinations are a condition of employment and are required annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Two years’ experience in an assisted living or skilled nursing facility.
• CPR certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medications within regulatory requirements and under nurse manager supervision.
• Act as a departmental resource and help resolve unit problems with the nurse manager.
• Verify patient identity and record medication, dosage, and administration time in medical records.
• Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and observe patients for responses to medication.
• Mentor new caregivers by providing orientation, assisting with training, and making recommendations to nursing administration and the nurse manager.
• Participate in Quality Assurance Programs.
• Assist with scheduling daily assignment sheets and ensure assigned charting and resident-care responsibilities are completed.
• Assist with medication inventory or stockroom maintenance as needed.
• Assist with stripping and making residents’ beds, resident laundry, meal service, and bussing tables during mealtimes.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
