About The Position
The Fountains of Cartersville is seeking Certified Medication Technicians for medication administration-related roles in an Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. Medication Technicians deliver medication administration and resident care oversight. This is a part-time, third-shift opportunity, working 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. every Friday through Sunday. A CMA certification is required. The role involves providing respectful, safe, and confidential care; completing documentation; reporting changes in residents’ conditions; following community policies and procedures; and participating in required education. Team members can use Tapcheck, a mobile app that provides access to earned wages before payday.
Requirements
- CMA certification.
- High school diploma.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Successful completion of a State Approved Medication Aide course.
- Personal Care Assistant or Certified Nursing Certification required.
- Ability to express oneself adequately in written and oral communication and communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for seniors without posing a substantial safety or health threat to oneself or others.
- Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment.
- Availability to work every Friday through Sunday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a positive working relationship with residents, family members, and staff.
- Promote and protect residents’ rights and treat residents with dignity and respect.
- Attend in-service and education programs and obtain continuing education required by state regulations.
- Remain calm under stressful conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents’ information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Maintain a professional appearance by following the community dress code.
- Complete documentation in an informative and descriptive manner.
- Report changes in a resident’s condition to the supervisor as soon as possible.
- Complete work schedules and assigned tasks in accordance with community policies and procedures.
- Operate equipment safely and use only equipment for which prior training has been received.
- Use infection control precautions and practices in all activities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency procedures and report safety violations.
- Administer medication and provide resident care oversight.
