About The Position

BHG is seeking a compassionate and driven Medication Nurse (LPN) dedicated to patient-centered care and recovery. The nurse supports patients throughout their recovery by screening and assessing patients, administering methadone, monitoring patient progress and treatment response, and maintaining accurate records. The role also supports regulatory compliance, medication and supply inventory, and collaboration across the care team.

The schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., plus Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. BHG describes its clinical setting as fast-paced, with periods of increased activity. The work may involve exposure to patients with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, infectious diseases, and criminal justice involvement, as well as potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Requirements

• Licensed as an LPN in the state of Tennessee.
• CPR and First Aid certified.

• Experience in chemical addiction.
• Knowledge of medication dispensing equipment, centrifuges, physical assessment tools, breathalyzers, and other standard clinical devices.

Responsibilities

• Administer methadone as prescribed and ensure safe dosing.
• Evaluate and assess new and existing patients to help determine appropriate treatment.
• Observe patients after medication administration and assess their response to treatment.
• Collect and document urine specimens and monitor lab work and physicals.
• Create a welcoming and respectful environment, treating patients with dignity and compassion.
• Help ensure the treatment center meets regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
• Maintain medical supply inventory and ensure medications are received, stored, and handled in accordance with DEA regulations.
• Prepare courtesy and vacation dose packages accurately.
• Maintain complete, organized, and up-to-date patient dosing records to support continuity of care.
• Help onboard and mentor new nursing team members.
• Earn phlebotomy certification when required and continue developing clinical skills through ongoing learning.
• Collaborate with counselors, nurses, and the broader care team.
