About The Position
Laurel Cove Senior Living is seeking a hands-on, experienced Medication Assistant to administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate medication records, and manage medication supplies. The role also supports nursing staff with direct resident care, responds to resident requests, records vital signs, and handles administrative tasks. The Medication Assistant monitors for negative drug effects, maintains accurate narcotics counts, and reports medication-related issues or discrepancies to the Director of Nursing. The position is based at Laurel Cove, a senior living community in Shoreline’s North City neighborhood.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR certification.
- Food handlers’ certificate.
- CNA/HCA certification.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a long-term facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments and keep precise records.
- Order and maintain adequate stocks of medications and supplies.
- Assist nursing staff with direct patient care, respond to resident requests, and record vital signs.
- Monitor for negative drug effects and maintain an accurate count of narcotics.
- Report medication-related issues and discrepancies to the Director of Nursing.
- Handle communications with doctors, pharmacies, and residents’ families as needed.
