About The Position

Distinctive Living is seeking a Full Time Medication Technician to join the Gardens of Carleton team. The Medication Technician is responsible for providing ADL services to residents according to their service plan, including medication management, personal care, and communication with medical professionals and families. All duties are performed under the direction of the Director, Health and Wellness, while adhering to regulatory standards.

Requirements

Compassion, empathy, and patience in dealing with older adults and individuals with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.

Prior experience working in a healthcare or senior care setting.

Responsibilities

Ensure the highest quality of customer service for residents.
Collaborate with the Gardens Team to create a happy, productive, and safe environment of honor, joy, and hope for residents and their loved ones.
Administer resident medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Document medication reminders and administration according to company policies and procedures.
Monitor resident health and well-being, promptly addressing any concerns or changes in condition (physical, emotional, cognitive, or behavioral) to the Supervisor and/or Administrator.
Monitor vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, as directed by nursing staff.
Assist with routine health assessments and documentation, including weight monitoring and glucose testing.
Comply with all local, state, and federal rules and regulations applicable to resident services, including resident care and documentation, HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines.
