The Accounting Assistant’s primary responsibility is to function as assistant to facility Comptroller in daily financial/resident accounting and billing. The Accounting Assistant should be high school graduate or its equivalent. Must be computer literate with two years previous experience in similar setting preferred. Position requires good interpersonal and communication skills to work with all socio-economic groups. Must be able to read and write in English; must have ability to communicate with other facility personnel and the general public and the ability to remain calm under stress. Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling are required. Find hand coordination and ability to hear and respond to pages and verbal telephone orders. Neat, clean professional appearance. Must be able to work well with all departments. Must maintain all information confidentially. Must complete annual safety renewal and annual competency assessment review. Functions primarily as assistant to facility Comptroller to include the following duties: Census data control and updates. Monthly Original Medicare and Managed Medicare Billing and Collections Resident insurance verification Billing software information verification and entry Resident Sponsor Liaison Other duties as assigned
