Medical Unit Float Pool RN
About The Position
The Float Pool Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN directs and guides patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care provided to assigned patients, communicates changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The position is full-time, works 12-hour night shifts, and is based at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care hospital experience.
- Ventilator management experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

- Take direct responsibility and accountability for care given to assigned patients.
- Communicate changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, including cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
