About The Position

Cottage Hospital is seeking skilled, detail-oriented Medical Technologists to join its laboratory team. The role performs complex and routine laboratory testing across blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. Medical Technologists verify results, maintain laboratory equipment, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results that support patient safety. Current scheduling needs include every weekend.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical analysis of blood, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids to identify normal and abnormal components.
• Verify and analyze laboratory findings to ensure accurate results.
• Perform routine and high-complexity testing and troubleshoot as needed.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers and analyzers.
• Ensure quality control and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Collect and study blood samples using microscopic techniques.
• Label and handle specimens accurately, ensuring proper patient identification.
• Communicate critical laboratory values to physicians and nursing staff.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and follow safety protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and assist with inspections.
• Support fellow team members in efficient laboratory operations.
