About The Position
The Medical Technologist performs complex procedures for clinical diagnostic purposes. This is a full-time position, working 80 hours per 2-week pay period. Typical hours are 0800-1830 (Four 10-hour shifts during weekdays), with every 3rd weekend rotation from 0600-1630, and working 2 out of 6 holidays. The role requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science for the MT position. For the MLT position, an Associate's degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory technician program or equivalent education and experience is required, along with specific certifications.
Requirements
- For MT: Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related science required.
- For MT: If degree is in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, must be certified as a MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) within 12 months of hire. Failure to be certified within 12 months of hire will result in being moved into a Non-certified MT position.
- For MT: If degree is in Biology, Chemistry, or other related science, must be certified as a MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) at time of hire.
- For MLT: Must meet one of the following: 1. Associates degree from a NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory technician program and certification as a MLT(ASCP) within 12 months of hire.
- For MLT: Associates degree and at least 60 semester hours from an accredited university including biology and chemistry and 5 years full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience and certification as an MLT(ASCP), ISCLT or HEW.
- For MLT: Successful completion of accredited Medical Laboratory technician program and three years of acceptable clinical laboratory experience and certification as an MLT(ASCP), ISCLT or HEW.
