About The Position
The Laboratory at Baptist Health Louisville acts as the core laboratory for the Baptist Health system, performing testing for both inpatients and outpatients. This fast-paced, busy automated Laboratory has the capacity to perform a full range of tests while maintaining a short turnaround time for our patients. The Laboratory Med Techs perform testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, and microbiology. This is an outstanding opportunity for individuals who like a busy laboratory and an opportunity to learn and grow in the field. Newly graduated Med Tech Laboratory students are welcome to apply.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
- Must become certified within 6 months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Previous work experience in high complexity testing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing for chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis in the core laboratory division.
- Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure patient safety.
- Use manual and automated equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests.
- Apply strong critical thinking to recognize problems that require additional troubleshooting or analysis.
- Be cross-trained in other areas of the laboratory.
