About The Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), also referred to internally as an LPN or LVN, for its Medical Surgical Unit in Gadsden, Alabama. The LPN provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with patient care.

This is a full-time night-shift position with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• Current and valid Alabama state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
• Obtain IV certification within 30 days and maintain current certification.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in an applicable setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice, meeting patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
• Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
• Perform under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide CPR and patient care; update documentation; handle specimens; provide wound care; and take vital signs.
