About The Position

This is a temporary, non-exempt position running through December 2026, based on-site at Arlington, TX location on assigned match days. The role involves communicating with the Venue Medical Director (VMD) regarding potential head injuries and assisting in the concussion protocol process by providing additional information to Club Player Health and Performance staff through written communication and clipped videos. The Medical Spotter will be available for a minimum of 40 matches per season and must alert their supervisor of any potential injury requiring medical attention. A post-match form must be filled out for each clipped video/incident or match if no clips were needed. The role requires recognizing visual signs of potential head injuries as outlined by MLS and the ability to work nights and weekends based on game day schedules.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from an accredited CAATE athletic training education program.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer (ATC) or sports medicine experience with equivalent or higher education.
Current NATABOC certification.
Current state licensure in practicing state.
Understanding of head injuries and management.
Recognition of observable signs of potential head injury.
Ability to communicate clearly, whether written or verbal, as it pertains to the observed visual signs of the MLS Spotter program.
Ability to multitask.
Excellent note taking.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of medical rules for the sport of soccer.
Knowledge of soccer competition rules.
Previous experience communicating with medical doctors (MD) and doctor of osteopathy (DO).
Knowledge of 8by8, HeadCheck Health, Smartsheet, Slack, Excel, and other software programs.
