About The Position

This position is for a Trailer Spotter on the 3rd shift. The role involves moving trailers on and off dock doors using a yard tractor and understanding third-party carrier equipment. The average number of trailers moved in a 10-hour shift is 85, potentially up to 110. The job requires good communication skills, a commitment to safety, the ability to work well with others, and to take direction from supervisors. The position may also require covering off-shifts for vacations with notice and working in all weather conditions. There is also a possibility of working on the dock if needed.

Requirements

Must have a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
Willingness to work on the dock if needed.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work safely.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to take direction from several Supervisors.

Responsibilities

Move 28 foot and 53 foot trailers on and off of dock doors using a yard tractor (Ottawa).
Understand Third Party Carrier equipment.
Communicate effectively and work safely.
Work well with others and take direction from supervisors.
Cover the off shift for vacations with notice.
Work in all types of weather conditions.
Be willing to work on the dock if needed.
