About The Position

The Scribe works directly with the provider to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient. Accompanies provider into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and exam, and document accurately the provider’s encounter with the patient and others present. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician. Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests and medications. Documents any procedures performed by the provider.

Requirements

High School Graduate or equivalent.
Experience in a hospital environment desirable.
Upper-level typing/computer skills and highly proficient in written and verbal English.
Strong knowledge of physiology, medical documentation, medical terminology, medical records, and anatomy.

Nice To Haves

CNA or medical assistant certification preferred.
