About The Position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based, customer-facing, non-promotional medical and scientific professional who advances clinical practice and supports improved patient outcomes in an assigned oncology solid tumor territory. The role requires deep therapeutic expertise, knowledge of territory and market influences, and scientific engagement with healthcare providers and medical experts. The MSL manages and develops the territory and executes activities aligned with medical strategy and tactical plans while following Novartis conduct, ethics, compliance, and working-practice requirements. The role also informs and shapes medical strategy by collecting actionable insights and assessing their potential strategic impact. This is a remote, field-based role supporting key accounts in an assigned geography. The preferred location is Minneapolis, Minnesota; candidates must reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from its border. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are not available. The role requires approximately 60–70% travel and a fully valid, unrestricted driver’s license. The position may be leveled as Manager or Associate Director based on experience. The MSL engages healthcare professionals and thought leaders, supports company-sponsored clinical trials, collaborates cross-functionally, and maintains current knowledge of the therapeutic area, Novartis compounds, applicable regulations, and internal policies. The role includes administrative responsibilities, required training, and ongoing personal and professional development. For field roles with a dedicated training period, initial training includes home study and is limited to eight or fewer hours per day and forty or fewer hours per week.
