About The Position

Resolution Think, through its joint venture partnership with Cognito Systems, LLC, is seeking a Referral Clerk to support administrative operations within the military treatment facility at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The role provides professional customer service while assisting patients and staff with referral and appointment coordination. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no travel.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen per contract requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• One year of administrative experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency and keyboarding ability sufficient to sustain electronic health record workflow.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Favorable employment is subject to completion of background, security, and drug screening requirements stated in the contract.
• Willingness to comply with DHA medical screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Referral management, medical scheduling, patient administration, or insurance verification experience is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the AHA or Red Cross, where required by the MTF.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and assist patients and staff with referral-related questions.
• Review and process referrals for completeness and eligibility.
• Schedule and reschedule specialty appointments according to MTF guidelines.
• Process routine, urgent, and emergent referrals within established timeframes.
• Coordinate referrals with outside providers or insurance when services are not available at the MTF.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation in MHS GENESIS and other required systems.
• Educate patients on referral procedures, appointments, and expected timelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
