About The Position

Centurion is seeking a full-time Medical Records Clerk to join its team at Graham Correctional Center in Hillsboro, Illinois. The role maintains offender health records, retrieves records for scheduled appointments, files health data, and initiates records for new or transferred intakes. The clerk reviews records for completeness, files records as required, and prepares reports as needed. The position pays $22.77 per hour and works a day shift from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or a bachelor’s degree.
• Prior experience with medical records and services.
• Active, appropriate certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/BLS.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including completion of a drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) is preferred but not required.
• Completion of a medical terminology course is preferred.
