About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking a Medical Receptionist/Scheduler for their Outpatient Office in Brewer, Maine. This is a full-time, in-person role, Monday through Friday. The position involves welcoming patients, managing front desk operations, verifying insurance, handling referrals, collecting payments, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily clinic flow. Rehab Without Walls is an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services and offers a unique neurorehabilitation program focused on helping individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or strokes regain functional capabilities in their home and community environments.

Requirements

  • Must have scheduling experience.
  • Prior medical front office experience
  • Experience with insurance verification/authorizations
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and a patient-friendly approach
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Presents professional attitude, appearance and beyond stellar customer service skills and use of judgment
  • Is detail oriented, organized and has strong data-entry skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior administrative experience in a health care environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and support front desk operations (check-in/out, scheduling)
  • Verify insurance and obtain prior authorizations
  • Manage referrals and maintain accurate records
  • Collect copays and process payments
  • Assist with billing, administrative tasks, and daily clinic flow
  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone.
  • Answers or refers inquiries
  • Receives referrals and understands type of insurance benefits available
  • Verifies insurances and obtains authorization from insurance companies
  • Schedules patient appointments
  • Registers patients; checks patients in and out
  • Collects copays at the time of each appointment and follows procedures for co-payment deposits
  • Performs credit card transactions
  • Maintains patient account balances
  • Works with electronic medical records
  • Files, Faxes, and Scans documents
  • Manages and orders office supplies
  • Completes billing and payroll data entry
  • Schedules breaks and lunches with Aides to ensure front office is covered
  • Completes clinic opening and closing duties, as required
