About The Position

MedVet is seeking a collaborative and driven Medical Oncology Veterinary Assistant to support its clinical team. The role involves compassionate patient care and client support in a fast-paced medical oncology environment, including gaining experience with chemotherapy treatments. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The hiring range is $17.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary experience is required.
• Proficiency with calculations, including drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Passing a drug screen and background check is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous oncology experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chemotherapy treatments, using excellent venipuncture skills.
• Coordinate and manage client communications by phone and email.
• Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, handle invoicing, discharge patients, and schedule appointments.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in medical records.
