Medical Oncology Veterinary Assistant

About The Position

MedVet is a fast-growing emergency and specialty provider with practices nationwide, offering advanced medical treatments and innovations. The Medical Oncology Veterinary Assistant joins a collaborative clinical team guided by the values of teamwork, leadership, and compassion. The role supports oncology patients and clients with compassionate, attentive care in a fast-paced environment and provides experience with chemotherapy treatments. The proposed schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The hiring range is $17.00–$28.00 per hour, based on experience. Employment is dependent on passing a drug screen and background check.

Requirements

Prior veterinary experience.
Proficiency in calculations, including drug calculations, constant-rate infusions, and unit conversions.
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous oncology experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with chemotherapy treatments, requiring excellent venipuncture skills.
Coordinate and manage client communication by phone and email.
Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, process invoicing, discharge patients, and schedule appointments.
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in medical records.
